Royal blue embroidered kata from Nepal.  Made out of silk with a soft frayed edge and features a variety of embroidered Buddhist symbols.

A kata is traditionally given as a symbol of respect and gratitude.  It is often given with incense during ceremonial occasions such as births, weddings, funerals, graduations and the arrival or departure of guests.  Katas scarves symbolize purity and compassion.
